performed by MCR in 1993. Reclamation of the remainder of the
mine site was taken over by the DMG in 1994. The DMG contracted
reclamation work in 1995, 1996 and 1997 with projected completion
in 1999. Reclamation has been funded by sales proceeds from the
Rock Dust Plant, and by proceeds of assets sold by the bankrupt
estate of MCR. Forest Service wherehy the 405 acre Preparation Plant tract
would also be transferred to the U. S. by exchange. This is to
be done in a series of exchanges, of which the first one has been
completed comprising about 55.9 acres of land on the easterly end
of the Preparation Plant tract.
In furtherance of a recreational pattern of uses, Mid -
Continent Resources has requested that consideration be given to
conversion of the Lamphouse at the mine access tunnel adits to
educational and recreational uses.
