be demolished unless any such material, structure foundation or pad exceeds the height of the <br />rubble which surrounds it upon completion of Task 2, Demolition. <br />East Work Area <br />All concrete, block wall, and asphaltic materials as well as miscellaneous debris and materials <br />located within the designated demolition area will be demolished and transported to the Central <br />Work Area disposal site. At least three significant buildings had been located within this work <br />area. A footer which is not associated with a mapped building has been observed at the eastern <br />portion of the work area. Asphalt has been observed in many portions of the work area. All <br />structures, foundations, pads and footers shall be excavated to a depth of three feet (3') below <br />ground level as measured from ground surface immediately adjacent to each structure. <br />Rubble generated as a result of the demolition in the East Work Area shall be transported to the <br />Central Work Area for disposal. Disposal of the rubble from this work area shall conform to the <br />Disposal area construction requirements described in the Central Work Area description, above. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a lump sum <br />bid under Item 2 on the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs fro structural <br />demolition and removal of rubble and debris from each work area, described above, to the <br />disposal areas. Payment shall be made as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT <br />MANAGER. <br />TASK 3 SEDIMENT CONTAINMENT MEASURES <br />It is the responsibility of CONTRACTOR to ensure that the integrity of the existing sediment <br />control system located within the Project Area is maintained. <br />Silt fences (sediment containment fences) will be installed as per manufacturers specifications <br />(Figure 1, Typical Silt Fence Installation) at various locations to minimize the transportation of <br />sediment from the construction area. Placement of silt fencing will occur at locations specified by <br />the PROJECT MANAGER. The CONTRACTOR will supply the prefabricated silt fence with <br />posts (Mirafi Prefabricated Silt Fence with Posts having a 3 foot width and 8.2 feet between <br />posts, or equivalent). It is estimated that 800 feet of silt fence will be installed at the Project <br />Area. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />Silt fences erected will be measured to the nearest linear foot. However, the use of silt fence is <br />NOT guaranteed. Payment for this task will at the prices established in Item 3 of the Bid <br />9 <br />
