While-vc avating the north facing Slope behind the coal refuse disposal rile,a small volume of concrete
rubble which is in place at ttks Ioe:itlon wal be remove-d to the conciv}e rubble disposal site, and WiD ha
disposed of as described in Task 1.
Old Coal Storage Area
The goal of accomplishing earth work at the Old Coat Storage Area Is to dispose of remnant coal
materials, and to create a drainage pattern consiztent with surrounding land forms.
All Coal materials tooated In this area will be pushed to the bsec of the slope located to the west of this
area. The coal will be piaced at a uniform depth across the length of the slope.
A large catch bench e3dsts approximately forty feet above the base of the east facing slope. This bench
WI be cut and pushed down to cover the coal placed at the base of the slope. It is desirable to cover the
coal with at least one foot of this material.
A drainage ditch is located an the north facing slope, north of,and below, the Old Coal Storage Area.
This ditch will be eliminated by pulling in the outside edge to fill the ditch.
A drainage divide wIU be created across the Old Coal Storage Area, trending east to west. The crest of
the divide will coincide with the top of the excavation area created during excavation activities on the
slope south of the Coal Refuse Disposal Area. Machinery will grade the land south of the drainage crest,
and north of Road A,so that this area slopes toward Road A and the ditch created during Taste 4_
Area West Of Coal Refuse Pile
This area is located against and adjacent to the north facing slopes south of the Fill Pond and west of
Pond 024. Grading of this area will occur in outer that exposed coal is covered to a minimum of about
twelve inches, and so that rain fall and snow melt rurwif flow in a northerly direction.toward Coal Creek.
Area North of Coal Refuse Pile
This area will be graded so that a slight gradient to the north Is created, causing rain fail and snow melt to
drain as sheet flow north toward Coal Creels. Some.cut of the upper most portion of the bank above Coal
Creek may be necessary to achieve the required fall.
AA areas to be topsailed will be ripped during execution of Task 5 to promote soil adhesion. Ripping shall
occur perpendicular to the fall of the slope at any one location.
TASK 6 TOPSOIL APPLICATION
After ripping is complete, topsoil will be spread to a depth of six inches(6)the following areas:
Location
Belt Line Transfer Road
Area West Of Coal Refuse Pile
Area North Of Coat Refuse Pile -
Old Coal Stockpile Area
Coal Refuse Pile
Slope South Of Wash Plant
Surface Roughening
Roughening of the surface will occur after topsoil is applied, Differing degrees of roughening will be
applied to various work areas.
The BO Line Transfer Road, the east facing slope located immediately west of the Otd Coal Storage area
and the north facing slope behind (South ot)the Wash plant area will be severely roughened following
topsoil application. in order to accomplish the dcgrce of scwrity of roughening neco ry.the following
wilt be eccompllshed:
3
