apt A
Road A will be graded to resemble its original(operational)condition. Light grading will occur so that
water Is shed to the inside drainage ditch, except in the area of the coal stockpiles. The ditch wifl be
cleaned of debrL-following the end of construction activities_ Inlets to existing culverts vw4 tie cleared of
sediment and debris, if any,at the completion of construction activities. A light application of dean three
quarter inch gravel will be applied to the Road A surface near Coal Stockpile B,where reclamation
sctivifies have narrowed the roadway.
TASK 3 . LOW WATER CROSSINGS
Two low water crossings will be built on Road A
One low water crossing will be constructed just west of Coat Stockpile E. near the terminus of lire
oveAand conveyor. The second low water crossing will be constructed at the 2econd switchback on Road
A near the Old Coal Storage location.
Each crossing will be nearly petpendioAarto the length of the road, and will have a fail of aootfi We
percent across the axis. ingress and egress routes will be about SH:1 V. The crossing will be the width of
the road above and below the crossing. Durable rock will be placed within each crossing, including the
base and side slopes.
TASK 4 SURFACE CHANNELS
Two surface channels will be construed;one at the Old Coal Storage Area, and one on the Rack Dump.
Old Coal Storage Area
An apprwArnzteiy one hundred fifty feet long drainage ditch will be constructed from the northern portion
of the Old Coal Storage Area, south across Road A, and down the inside portion of Road A to the pond
located outside of the first Road A switchback.
The ditch will be triangular in shape. The ditch wilt have a depth of about eighteen inches at its center.
Side slopes will be 3H.1V or gentler. The ditch will have a gradient of about four percent, except where it
is located adtacent to Road A below the low water crossing, where its gradient will match that of Road A.
A kry water crossing wM be constricted at the Road A crossing of this ditch In order that traffic may stilt
access the upper portions of this road (see Task 3).
Rock Dump Channel
An approximately three hundred and fifty feet long drainage channel will be constructed on the Rock
Dump in order to convey runoff from the top and north side of the facility to the large Swale on the south
side of the pike.
The channel will be trapezoidal in shape, having a two 15cet bottom width and side slopes of about 3H_4V.
The minimum depth of the channel will be two feet. --
TASK 5 EARTH WORK
Coal Refuse Disposal Area
The Coal Refuse Area will be covered by about twelve inches of earthen material. This material will be
generated by reducing the hill side behind (south of)the refuse pile from near vertical to 2H:1V. Deficit
material, if any, wifl be hauled from the Sutey Topsoil Stockpile. The shape of the covered refuse will be
essentially the same as that of the existing material. The slopes of the disposal site have been
constructed to the desired slope angles. Therefore, earthen material placement will not result in
steepening of the slopes.
2
