The Division
concurs with your request.
As your letter states, the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (CDMG) is in the process of reclaiming
the former mine site. As part of these reclamation activities, the facilities served by this pond system have
been removed and the land has been reclaimed. Additionally, the ditching system that transported surface
runoff to the pond system has been covered over as have the uppermost ponds. These facts have been
correlated by Steve Renner, the CDMG representative overseeing the reclamation activities. The result is that
outfall 001 no longer serves the purpose that it originally did when permit coverage was initiated.
On this basis, the Division sees no value to continued monitoring of outfall 001. Effective immediately, Mid-
Continent Resources, Inc. will no longer be required to monitor outfall 001.
Please contact me at (303) 692-3605 if you have questions or further concerns.
Sincerely,
1" ) .
Jo .
