Some of the problems we have seen are keeping pesticide application records, storage and service vehicle
requirements, where and what to post for applications, notification, and verifiable technician training.
We have listed some of the essential points, which should help you and your company come into compliance.
➢ Pesticide Application Records are required for each individual application, and need to contain the following:
(Multiple applications made at the same site and date can be placed on one record/invoice)
• Name and address for whom the application was made
• Location, if different from above address
• Target pest, must be specific
• Site, crop, commodity or structure treated
• Specific pesticide with EPA Registration Number
• Dilution rate
• Application rate, total amount of pesticide applied/unit of area
• Time and date of application
• Carrier, if other than water
> Invoice statement: "Commercial applicators are licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture" must be placed on all
invoices.
(Record keeping examples have been enclosed for you. These examples are suggestions only; you may use any format, just
remember to include all the records keeping components listed above.)
Pesticide Storage Areas require:
• Separate areas must he posted and locked.
• Area needs to be clean and orderly.
• Local fire dept. needs to be notified of location and supplied with MS
DS' for all pesticides held at that location if
requested.
• Each storage location needs to have a working fire extinguisher rated for chemical fires.
• All service containers (i.e., B & G, pump sprayers, etc.) need to be identified with the common name of the active
ingredient, the EPA Registration Number, and the hazard signal word.
Service Vehicle Equipment Identification:
• Each vehicle and/or trailer used for applying or carrying pesticides needs to be identified on both sides with the company
name in 2 inch high letters and with the city and state, where company records are kept, in 1 inch high letters.
Applicator Licensing(303) 239-4146 0 Groundwater(303) 239-4180 0 • Product Registration (303) 239-4144
