Box 309 Carbondale, Colorado 81623 RE: Te ical Revision Response No. 2 to Midterm Review of the Coa74Wsin Mines (Our File No. C-81-017, TR ) Dear Mr. Riordan: Pursuant to Title 34, Article 35, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes , the Mined Land Reclamation Division hereby issues notice that on October 16, 1991 , a technical revision application for a permit to conduct coal mining operations , File No. C-81-017 (TR - 21 ) , by Mid-Continent Resources , Inc . , P.O. Box 1298, Glenwood Springs , Colorado 81623, was deemed complete for the purposes of filing. All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing. The revision applies to operations at the Coal Basin Mine located approximately 4 miles east of Redstone, Colorado in Pitkin and Gunnison Counties . The revision is for amendments requested by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division in their midterm review of Permit C-81-017. The mine area permit boundaries are as follows : Section 31 and 32 , T9S , R89W; Sections 4-11 , 14-21 , 28-30, T10S , R89W; Section 36, T9S, R90W; Sections 1-2, 11-14, 23-25 , TIOS, R90W; all in the 6th P.M. in Pitkin and Gunnison Counties , Colorado. The surface of the mining permit area is owned by Mid-Continent Resources , Inc. and the United States (U.S. Forest Service) . U.S.G.S 7.5 minute quadrangle maps of Placita and Elk Knob contain the described area of the proposed operation . A coal loadout facility located approximately 1 mile east of Carbondale , Colorado in Garfield County is not affected by the proposed revision .
