Mr. Jim Herron October 31, 1983 Page 2
5. The bench for the transfer point will be started
with a D-8 cat after the vegetation (sparse cover-
Mancos hillside) is removed. Any topsoil encountered
will be saved; there is none visible. The cut mate-
rial will be placed in the small drain just north of
cut (see map) . A culvert will be placed in this
draw first . This material will be used to return to
A.O.C. (see reclaim drawing) after mining has
stopped.
6. Sediment control will entail sloping all pads and
roads to the inside and berming the outside. The
transfer pad will have a drop structure (see drawing)
which will tie into the existing drain that goes
across the front gate. The small additional drainage
(0. 11 acres) will not affect the main sediment pond
system, as it is oversized.
Please contact me immediately if you have any questions con-
cerning this matter.
Sincerely,
Environmental Coordinator
DWBowman:ms
Enclosures : Maps, Specifications
