Conveyor Corridor
Concrete foundations which supported) the overland conveyor and associated stacking equipment are
the dominate structures in this work area. Within the conveyor corridor, there is a large rectangular end
foundation at the western terminus of the corridor, and approximately sixty (60) pairs of cylindrical
support foundations along the corridor length. The end foundation must be demolished to a depth of at
least four feet (4') below ground surface. The cylindrical foundations must be demolished to the extent
that any remnants are a minimum of four feet (4') below ground surface after completion of Task 4, Earth
Work. A number of corrugated metal pipe culverts are in place along the corridor. These shall be
excavated and removed to the main facilities area for removal by others. The rubble produced from the
demolition process shall be removed to the Stockpile B back wall for disposal by burial.
Rubble must be placed at the base of the Stockpile B back wall so that it is covered by a minimum of
four feet (4') of earthen materials upon completion of Task 4, Earth Work.
Stockpile B
Concrete foundation materials are in place along the western and northern portions of the stockpile
vicinity, and adjacent to the facility on both sides of Road A. An appreciable volume of foundation
materials is in place at the former location of the
coal stacker facility near the north central portion of the facility. All foundations within the Stockpile B
facility must be demolished to the extent that any remnants are a minimum of four feet (4') below ground
surface after completion of Task 4, Earth Work.
Rubble must be placed at the base of the Stockpile B backwall so that it is covered by a minimum of four
feet (4') of earthen materials upon completion of Task 4, Earth Work.
Stockpile M
Little, if any, concrete materials exist within the Stockpile M work area. Any materials observed or
encountered in the facility during completion of Task 4, Earth Work, must be demolished and removed
from the work area to the designated disposal site south of the Wash Plant.
Warehouse Vicinity
An appreciable volume of concrete, asphaltic, cinder block and metallic material is located within this
work area. Except as specifically noted in this Invitation for Bid, all such materials will be completely
excavated and removed from this work area for disposal at the Wash Plant disposal site.
For ease of discussion, the Warehouse Vicinity can be subdivided into a western area and an eastern
area (see Map 4, Project Area). The western area is located adjacent to, and immediately east of
Stockpile M, and just north of the three sediment ponds. The eastern area is located immediately east
of the three sediment ponds, and extends to the intersection of the warehouse road and Road A.
Western Work Area
A conveyor transfer building and associated foundations, a twelve feet (12') diameter coal conveyance
tunnel located west of and uphill from the conveyor transfer building, and a water tank foundation are
the most significant structures located at the western work area.
8
