TASK 1 MOBILIZATION AND DEMOBILIZATION
This Task shall comply with Specification 1.0, Mobilization/ Demobilization, attached.
Measurement and Payment
There will be no measurement for payment. Payment for this task will be reflected in a lump sum
bid under Item 1 on the Bid Schedule. This lump sum bid will cover all costs fort Mobilization and
Demobilization. Payment shall be made as described in Specification 1.0, Mobilization /
Demobilization, attached.
TASK 2 DEMOLITION
The goal of this Task is to accomplish demolition and disposal of a concrete drainage ditch and
an adjacent retaining wall, disposal of steel debris, trash, tires and other miscellaneous materials
encountered within the Project Area.
A small amount of steel debris, tires, and other materials are located near the main entry gate. A
small amount of steel debris, other materials and trash may be encountered ear the Rock Tunnel
vicinity. These materials, as well as any other debris encountered within the Project Area will be
collected and removed from the site. CONTRACTOR may either keep these materials, or shall
properly dispose of them in a licensed disposal facility.
Adjacent to Coal Creek is a concrete lined ditch and retaining wall. The ditch and wall extend
east from the vicinity of a large steel building to the Dutch Creek Diversion. There are three (3)
short concrete lateral ditches, which feed into the main concrete ditch. These structures shall be
completely removed and placed with the other concrete rubble in the designated disposal area.
Concrete debris must not be allowed to enter into Coal Creek. No debris or rubble may remain in
place on the slope above Coal Creek.
A large culvert is in place under the Main Sutey access road near the confluence of Ditches 1
and 8, immediately south of the Sutey Refuse Pile. This culvert is anchored by a concrete
structure at the outlet, and possibly by a concrete footer at the inlet. Other concrete structures
are also located near the outlet of this culvert at the margin of the adjacent pond.
CONTRACTOR shall accomplish demolition and disposal of all concrete structures, including
footers, if any, near and adjacent to the culvert during completion of Task 2, Demolition.
Concrete structures at the Coal Basin Mine have been observed to contain substantial amounts
of rebar. It is assumed that the various structures described here are similarly rebared.
The demolished concrete, including rebar, will be transported to a disposal area located on top of
the coal refuse disposal area, approximately one hundred and fifty feet (150') south of the
concrete ditch. PROJECT MANAGER will mark the location of the disposal area in the field prior
to demolition being initiated. A hole shall be excavated in the refuse, and the demolished
concrete rubble will be placed so that when buried a minimum of four feet (4') of refuse shall
cover the rubble. Upon completion, excess excavated refuse shall be replaced and compacted.
The surface of the disposal area shall be reshaped to achieve the same contour as existed at the
top of the facility prior to initiating rubble disposal activities.
9
