andput our property back into production. We have not gotten one piece ofproperty put into
production. Since you were a part of this mine, you also help take our 196, 358 cubic yards of
Barx 2E soils that were stolen from us and put on the East side of 27 Road. These are prime
soils that cannot be taken from one property to another. We are one of the only ones in this
entire country that have the Barx 2E soils and these soils cannot be duplicated or replaced. Our
soils -were NEVER suppose to leave this place.
There has not been one farmer that has tried to shut the mine down, The Mercury issue has
nothing to do with us. There has not been one farmer to belittle a miner or try to eliminate their
jobs. Least of all us who has many family members employed. All we asked for is our soils to
be returned to us, and they were not. And if you had read the soil surveys and documentations,
you would have seen that our Barx soils were down 72 plus inches and we have pictures of them
15 plus feet Alfalfa is a deep rooted plant and so is corn and our root zone was down 25 feet
and it was not because they were searching for water. You should stick to driving you water
truck and blading because you know nothing about prime farmland or farming.
Mel Staats tore up his disk last year on the Benson property because of the huge ROCKs that
were in this so- called perfect reclaimed area that you speak of. And this year he tore up a brand
new land leveler on this same piece of property. Very expensive repairs. As to framers getting
new homes, new equipment because of the mine, there has not been ONE person here that has
done that.
W. And Mrs. Morgan has worked only on their farm their ENTIRE lives. They have hadno
other jobs at all at any time. They have made their farm pay for itself. We get 1500 ton of hay
off this place even without what is being mined and hay now sells for 300 dollars per ton and if
we wanted to sale it for that amount, figure it yourself Because of the mine, we have not gotten
any production off what is being mined for 10 years now. They dried it up two years in advance
of mining it. The Sunshine place was the prettiest place in the valley. Mr. Morgan did. not lease
it to the mine because of money. He leased it because the coal was there and we would have the
farm back and still be able to have cheap energy. But, in return, we want our soils returned to us
and this put back as good as or better than it was as the law requires. Not just partial, the entire
thing. And they stole our soils and they are not there to put back and we are not accepting the
Bench one material in place of our soils.
We do not believe that a new permit should be issued when they have never fulfilled their
obligations or followed the rules and regulations on the old permits.
James Jobnssons place was one of the prettiest places around us. It produced 319 ton of hay the
year WFC took possession. They removed the water out of the permit and permitted as
DRYLAND. Against the rules and regulations. What good is dryland to anyone? They bought
the Martin place that had been historically irrigated and cropped and permitted as dryland. But,
remember, I was there. I had two really good years of harvesting it after it was put back and then,
I was told- to-remove the water that the STATE had ordered WFC to turn it into drylarnd. I had
the rice trac beautiful and then I was told by WFC to take the water off that the STATE had
ordered WFC to turn it into dryland. This was also historically irrigated and cropped.
