The following amendments
and clarifications should be incorporated into the Invitation for Bid:
1) The Sutey Diversion bends to the west beginning about 90 feet below the head of the
diversion to about 130 feet below the head of the diversion. This reach of the
diversion through the bend must be armored with rip rap. Also, the outside bank of
the channel will be four (4) feet higher than the inside bank through this reach.
In this reach (before riprap), the inside of the channel shall be no less than 6.6 feet in
depth as measured from the base of the channel to the top of the inside bank. The
outside bank of the channel shall be no less than 10.6 feet in depth as measured from
the base of the channel to the top of the outside bank. Durable rock rip rap having a
D50 of 1.0 feet will be placed within the channel through this reach to a depth of 1 .3
feet. Over this initial layer of rip rap, an additional layer of durable rock rip rap having
a D50 of 3.0 feet will be placed to an average depth of 3.5 feet. The rip rap materials
shall extend to the crest of the side slopes on both sides of the channel.
Following installation of riprap, the open channel through this approximately 40 feet
long rip rapped reach shall be trapezoidal in shape, with a bottom width of not less
than 7 feet and a depth of not less than 1 .8 feet on the inside bank as measured from
the base of the channel to the top of the bank. The outside bank shall be no less than
5.8 feet in depth as measured from the base of the channel to the top of the bank.
Side slopes shall be no steeper than 2H:1 V.
2) The CONTRACTOR will provide the rip rap required for the Sutey Diversion. Some
amount of suitable material may be obtained from the rock materials salvaged during
construction of Ditches 1 and 8. The remainder of the material will be imported to the
site by CONTRACTOR.
