3) The figure entitled "Coal Basin/Sutey Pile Reclamation Project Ditch Cross Sections 1 -
4, Channel Cross Section 1 " incorrectly identifies the Spring Conveyance Ditch as
requiring lining. The Spring Conveyance Ditch DOES NOT require lining.
4) The Sutey Stream Diversion has been labeled on Map 4. A revised Map 4 is attached.
5) Topsoil shall be applied to the Old Refuse Pile prior to application of topsoil at the
Sutey Pile.
6) CONTRACTORS should note the location of the two topsoil stockpiles identified on
Map 4. These are the upper and lower Sutey Topsoil piles. There is also a small
topsoil pile located on the north end of the Sutey pile. A minor amount of topsoil is
available at the base of the Old Refuse Pile near the Dutch Creek Flume. The majority
of the topsoil needed at the Old Refuse Pile will be imported from the Sutey Topsoil
piles.
7) CONTRACTORS should note that all references to the amount of available topsoil are
approximations only. CONTRACTORS are encouraged to independently verify the
volume of topsoil in each location.
8) The progression of work at the Sutey Pile shall be as follows:
- Grading
- Topsoil application
- Ditch Construction
- Revegetation
9) Mulching of the areas to be revegetated is required. See "General Bid Specifications",
1993, Section 20.0 for pertinent specifications. Tackifier may be utilized on slopes
of 2H:1 V or greater in place of crimping. If used, tackifier shall be applied as per
manufacturer specifications, and upon approval of the product by the PROJECT
MANAGER.
10) No fertilizer is required at the Old Refuse Pile.
1 1) The project is scheduled for construction between July 12, 1995 and August 30,
1995. The time of completion for the project is forty nine (49) calendar days after
receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This includes ten (10) days mobilization time.
12) All terms and conditions of the Invitation for Bid other than as changed by this
amendment remain the same.
13) Receipt and acceptance of this amendment shall be acknowledged on the Bid sheet.
m:\imp\sgr\stybdam
