PROJECT WORK DESCRIPTION
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The goal of this project is to accomplish reclamation of two waste disposal facilities, the
Sutey Pile and the Old Refuse Pile (Map 3, Mine Plan Map). The Sutey and Old Refuse Piles
consist of coal refuse derived from the washing of coal. Portions of each facility have been
previously reclaimed. This project will achieve final reclamation at each facility by
accomplishing some grading work of the disposal areas, application of topsoil, construction
of drainages, and revegetation.
The Coal Basin Sutey Pile and Old Refuse Pile Reclamation Project includes the following
tasks:
Task 1 : Mobilization and Demobilization
Task 2: Silt Fence
Task 3: Earth Work
Task 4: Surface Drainage
Task 5: Equipment Rental
Task 6: Revegetation
Task 7: Additional Silt Fence, if required
TASK 1 MOBILIZATION AND DEMOBILIZATION
This task shall comply with the attached specification 1 .0, Mobilization/Demobilization,
attached.
TASK 2 SILT FENCES
Sediment containment fences will be Mirafi Prefabricated Silt Fence with Posts, or approved
equivalent. Silt fence will be installed as per manufacturers specifications with 3 feet
between posts, Silt fence will be placed at various locations to minimize the transportation
of sediment from each disposal facility and will be paid for under Task 2. Placement of silt
fencing will occur concurrently with grading operations. 1 ,100 feet of silt fence will be
installed at the Sutey Refuse Disposal Area and 900 feet at the Old Refuse Pile. It may be
necessary to install up to 800 additional feet of silt fencing, which will be paid under Task 7.
The PROJECT MANAGER will notify the CONTRACTOR if additional silt fencing must be
provided and installed.
6
