Task 7a - For slopes steeper than 3H:1 V (Estimated 10 acres) <br /> Broadcast application of seed and fertilizer and hand mulching and crimping will be required. <br /> The outslopes below Mine 3, the Intermediate Coal Transfer Area and the Lower Bench Area, <br /> as well as the backfill slopes consist of slopes which are steeper than 3H:1 V. Seed <br /> application rate will be double the drill seed application rate. <br /> Task 7b - For slopes flatter than 31-1:1 V (Estimated 5 acres) <br /> These areas are primarily composed of carbonaceous shale or coal fines and will receive 5 <br /> (five) tons per acre of native grass hay to be incorporated be disc or other suitable means prior <br /> to fertilization. These areas will be delineated by the PROJECT MANAGER. All seed drilling <br /> and crimping operations will be operated on contour. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Measurement and payment for this Task will be as per Specification 20.0, attached. <br /> Revegetated areas will be measured to the nearest 0.1 acre. The price bid shall include all <br /> costs for labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary for revegetation as <br /> described in these specifications. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved <br /> by the PROJECT MANAGER. Payment for this task shall be made only for that amount shown <br /> under Task 6 of the Bid Schedule. Any or all incidental costs incurred by the CONTRACTOR <br /> shall be reflected in each Bid Item or shall be paid at the CONTRACTOR'S expense. <br /> PROJECT OBSERVATION <br /> The PROJECT MANAGER will be at the project site periodically to monitor construction <br /> activities and ensure that each work item is completed and constructed to design <br /> specifications. The PROJECT MANAGER will be available during regular business hours (8:00 <br /> A.M. to 5:00 P.M.) on weekdays. Inspections will not be scheduled on weekend days or <br /> holidays without approval of the PROJECT MANAGER. The following items must be observed <br /> and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER before proceeding with additional work: <br /> - Bench and fill areas after structural demolition and rubble placement is <br /> completed, and prior to initial fill excavation and placement; <br /> - Completion of cut and fill operations at each of the three locations; <br /> - Final grades prior to establishing contour furrows; <br /> - Completion of the furrows; <br /> - Final configuration of all areas prior revegetation; <br /> - Upon completion of mulching and crimping operations. <br /> 12 <br />
