9. Conclusions
Overall, the plans presented above do the best to:
1) reclaim as much of the highwall as possible using all reasonably
available material,
2) provide for long term backfilled slope stability,
3) regrade, resoil and revegetate all areas to be compatible with
the post- mining land use,
4) handle drainage in the safest, most practical way possible and
minimize erosion.
The highwall remnants should not be regarded as major impacts to
the environment. As previously stated, natural and near vertical,
unvegetated slopes exist throughout the area. Once the reclaimed
areas are revegetated, the relatively flat grassy areas will be
unique and welcome to both wildlife and stock animals.
As a professional engineer with 15 years of experience in
construction, coal mine reclamation and slope stability, I certify
that the report herein was prepared by me and that it is accurate
to the best of my knowledge and belief.
4 ) (b 4 `V/V9y
