Introduction <br /> This document is the approval package prepared by the Colorado Mined Land <br /> Reclamation Division for a permit revision for the Coal Basin Mines, an <br /> underground mining operation located in Pitkin and Gunnison Counties. The <br /> document contains the proposed decision to approve the permit application; a <br /> summary which includes a description of the review process for the permit <br /> application; a description of the environment affected by the mining operation <br /> and a description of the mining and reclamation plan; and the written findings <br /> of compliance that the Division is required to make pursuant to the Colorado <br /> Surface Coal Mining Act of 1979. Detailed information about the review <br /> process can be found in the Act and the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land <br /> Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. All rules referenced in this document are <br /> contained within those regulations. Detailed information about the proposed <br /> mining and reclamation operations can be found in the permit application and <br /> the public record maintained by the Division (File No. C-017-81) at <br /> 1313 Sherman Street, Room 423, Denver, Colorado, and at the Pitkin County <br /> Courthouse in Aspen, Colorado. <br /> Please note that stipulation numbers are not sequential in some instances. <br /> This is due to carry-over of some stipulations from the findings document of <br /> the 1981 permit application. The stipulation number from the 1981 findings <br /> document that are carried over are numbered the same in this findings document. <br />
