MINERALS PROGRAM PRESENTATION FORM <br /> Agenda Item No. 18 <br /> Information On: Technical Revision TR-014 to the Sunnyside Mine <br /> Permit, which incorporates design details and <br /> impact characterization for installation of <br /> hydraulic seals within the underground workings <br /> into the reclamation permit. <br /> For Presentation to the Mined Land Reclamation Board: <br /> FROM: Allen Sorenson <br /> DATE: November 18, 1993 <br /> Operator: Sunnyside Gold Corporation, an Echo Bay Company <br /> File No. : M-77-378 <br /> Operation Type: Underground- Precious and Base Metals <br /> General Location: Approximately 2 mi. north of Silverton in San <br /> Juan County <br /> Pertinent Details: <br /> 1. Attached is a list of issues raised by the Division and <br /> interested parties during the review of TR-014. <br /> 2 . Attached are letters received by the Division in response to <br /> Public Notification of the TR-014 submittal. <br /> 4 . Installation of the bulkheads will be certified by a <br /> professional engineer. The operator will contact the Division <br /> at critical points during construction to facilitate Division <br /> inspections of the installation of the bulkheads. <br /> 3 . The operator has committed to monitoring of water quality and <br /> quantity in the drainages surrounding the Sunnyside workings <br /> in order to assess the impact of flooding the underground <br /> workings. The operator has further committed to inoculate the <br /> mine pool with a groundwater tracer in order to track <br /> potential emergence of mine pool water. <br /> 4 . The contingency will be available to draw down the mine pool, <br /> and return to the existing conditions, if unforseen problems <br /> develop during flooding of the workings. <br /> Staff Recommendation: <br /> Division staff recommends approval of TR-014 with the condition <br /> that the following commitments be attached to approval. The <br /> operator has agreed to the wording of the commitments. <br />
