must be submitted to, and approved by, the Division prior to
closing the American Tunnel by-pass valve. Certifications
described in item 4 must similarly be submitted and approved.
Monitoring of the rise of the mine pool after bulkhead completion
must be correlated with on-going monitoring of potential discharge
points and groundwater tracer studies and reported to the Division
in a comprehensive manner with the Sunnyside Mine annual report.
If any discharge of mine water is detected in the course of the
monitoring, or if any other problems related to flooding of the
workings develops, the Division must be notified immediately so
that remedial actions can be implemented. This should not be
construed to mean that immediate action cannot be taken by
Sunnyside Mine personnel if, in their own best judgment, the
situation warrants such action.
6. Public Notification and Filing with the County Clerk
The installation of bulkhead seals within the Sunnyside Mine
workings has the potential to impact surrounding landowners,
downstream water users, as well as the citizens of San Jaun County
and the State of Colorado. For this reason the Division believes
that public notice, similar to that required for new permit
applications and amendments, should be provided for this technical
revision. Prior to the decision date for this revision, the
following notice should be published once in a newspaper of general
circulation in the locality of the mining operation:
PUBLIC NOTICE
Sunnyside Gold Corp. , An Echo Bay Company; (Address and Phone)
has filed a technical revision
to their Mining and Reclamation permit with the Colorado Mined
Land Reclamation Board under the provisions of the Mined Land
Reclamation Act. The mine is known as the Sunnyside Mine and
is located at or near Section Township Range
-41 Prime Meridian—
The revision proposes the placement of four reinforced
concrete bulkheads to impound water currently passing through
the Sunnyside Mine workings. The purpose of these bulkheads
is to restore the pre-mining hydrology as best as possible to
that present prior to mining. Additional information and
tentative decision date may be obtained from the Division of

Written comments must be received by the Mined Land
Reclamation Board by 5:00 p.m. on , 19_.
