1995 Annual Update
Sunnyside Mine Bulkheads
Page 3
- Detection of conjunctive flow changes in Cement Creek has been
accepted as being represented adequately by surface flow
measurements at monitoring point CC -1. Therefore, groundwater
level measurements and groundwater flow calculations have been
eliminated from the monitoring and reporting requirements.
Data Update Details:
- Additional sample points added during the 1994 field season
are:
o Seep 17 Small portal in cliffs across Eureka Creek from
Terry Tunnel. Located southwest and uphill from Seep 12.
o Seep 18 Located between Eureka Creek and Seep 17
approximately 80 feet north of cliffs that contain Seep
17 and at the same elevation.
o TT -1 Located approximately 100 feet upstream on Eureka
Creek from the Terry Tunnel discharge.
o TT -2 North bank of Eureka Creek approximately 30 feet
downstream from Terry Tunnel discharge.
o Seep 20 Located 600 feet upstream of Midway Mill on
north side of Eureka Creek.
o Seep 1 North bank of the South Fork of Cement Creek
approximately 600 feet upstream from American Tunnel.
o Toltec -1 Toltec vein surface exposure seep. Site
is approximately 300 feet upstream of Terry Tunnel in
cliffs on northeast side of Eureka Creek.
o Seeps noted but not sampled are;
- Bank upstream and slightly above Terry Tunnel portal
elevation.
- Small seep 30 feet north of Seep 9 in Cement Creek
drainage exiting talus slope.
- Deletion of sample sites
Sample points not visited or sampled during 1994 were site
samples from streams.
These are UM -1, LM -1, GK -1, EMW and SFMW and are not
indicative of seep or spring water quality. The quality of
these streams are already covered by downstream monitoring
points (ie CC -1 and EC34).
