Site Reclamation Activity <br /> 4/94 - 3/95 <br /> Page 8 <br /> TAILINGS POND #2 - Plate No. 3 <br /> Activity at this site during the 1994 reporting year consisted of; <br /> 1) removal of haul road and Boulder Creek crossing. <br /> 2) fertilization of the established vegetation with liquid <br /> fertilizer (17N 8P 2K) applied at a rate of 50 gal/acre. <br /> 3) modification of the stormwater runoff path that diverted <br /> runoff water across Tailings Pond #3. It was modified to <br /> direct flow to a cu lver t under Hwy. 110 and across the armored <br /> drainage path constructed in 1993 across the Engineering <br /> Office Settling Ponds. This culvert was also extended to <br /> discharge downslope to minimize slope erosion. <br /> 4) removal of the pump house and transformer station located on <br /> the toe of Pond #2 above Pond #3. <br /> 5) planting of fireweed and lupine seeds across the area. <br /> Planned activity for 1995 includes; <br /> 1) monitoring and maintenance. <br /> 2) planting of shrubs. <br /> ENGINEERING OFFICE SETTLING PONDS - Plate No. 3 <br /> Activity at this site during the 1994 reporting year consisted of; <br /> 1) removing the access road from Hwy. 110 on the east side of <br /> this area, recontouring, seeding with Mountain Mix at 22 <br /> lbs/acre and mulching with hay at 1 ton/acre. <br /> 2) planting of both purchased and transplanted aspen trees in <br /> small groves across the area. <br /> 3) fertilization with liquid fertilizer (17N 8P 2K) at a rate of <br /> 50 gal/acre. <br /> 4) planting of fireweed and lupine seeds across the area. <br /> Planned activity for the 1995 reporting year consists of; <br /> 1) monitoring and maintenance. <br /> 2) planting of shrubs. <br />
