Site Reclamation Activity <br /> _ 4/94 - 3/95 <br /> Page 11 <br /> MAYFLOWER MILL AREA - Plate No. 3 <br /> Activity at this site during the 1995 reporting year consisted of; <br /> 1) cleanup of isolated pockets of tailings. <br /> 2) amending various road sideslopes around the property with 1-3 <br /> tons per acre of limestone, fertilizing (32-0-0) with liquid <br /> fertilizer at a rate of 50 gal/acre and seeding with the <br /> Mountain Mix (22 lbs pls per acre) . These areas were then <br /> mulched with hay at a rate of 1 ton per acre. <br /> 3) amending the reclamation plan for the area (post mining use) <br /> in AM-004 to provide for the donation of the site to the San <br /> Juan County Historical Society for their conversion to a mill <br /> tour and museum. <br /> Planned activity for 1996 includes; <br /> 1) a request for release of this area from the permit. <br /> MONITORING - Water Quality <br /> Included in Appendix A is water quality data for; <br /> 1) Mayflower Millsite area <br /> a) Animas River above (AR 3 .5) and below (AR 4) complex <br /> b) Boulder Creek above (BC1) and below (BC2) tailings ponds. <br /> c) Monitoring wells on the banks of the Animas River down <br /> gradient from Tailings Pond #3 (EOMW1 and EOMW2) . <br /> d) Diversion ditch flow between Tailings Pond #3 and <br /> Tailings Pond #4 upgradient of TP#3 (SCTP31) and before <br /> entry to Animas River (SCTP32) . <br /> 2) American Tunnel Area <br /> a) Cement Creek above (CC1/CC1A) and below (CC2) complex. <br /> b) Springs in the area of the waste dump (ATS1, ATS2) . <br /> 3) Eureka Creek between Sunnyside Basin and the Terry Tunnel <br /> (EC1) . <br />
