was not received during the 2000 report year (a site inspection is
required), Table A reflects the requested release.
Activity at this site consisted of;
1) use of the quonset building, metal building and vicinity as
a staging area for projects and storage.
2) relocation of the topsoil stockpile from this area to the top
of Tailings Pond No.4 to prepare the area for release.
Activity planned for 2001 includes;
1) monitoring and maintenance of vegetation on the remaining area
if the release request is approved as submitted. If the
release request is not approved, correct any deficiencies
required for release approval.
BULKHEADS - TR -14 / TR -16 / TR -22 / TR -23 / TR -25
Activity on this project during the 2000 reporting year consisted
of;
1) the continuation of the seep, spring and flowing adit
inventory required by TR -14. Twenty percent of the sites were
required to be sampled and all sites monitored for field
parameters twice. SGC monitored each site twice (if flow
existed) and sampled more than twenty percent of the sites
during the field season. Summary sheets of the data collected
are included in Appendix B.
2) implementation of the work plans for the voluntary Consent
Decree agreement projects in order to fulfill the terms of the
agreement and move towards final site reclamation if the terms
of the Consent Decree are successfully met. The "A List"
projects were completed and inspected by October 1997.
Sunnyside submitted three additional projects for inclusion
under the Consent Decree B list projects. These projects
include work within the permit area (approved in TR -21) as
well as diversion work outside the permit area. These projects
were started during the 1998 report year with completion in
the 1999 report year although repair work for approval of one
of these projects was completed in the 2000 report year.
3) monitoring of the bulkhead in the American Tunnel for pressure
and mine pool for pH, temperature and conductivity, and
inspection of the tunnels and bulkheads.
