Site Reclamation Activity <br /> Page 7 <br /> Planned activity for 1993 includes: <br /> 1) maintenance of vegetation and possibly applying overburden <br /> cover to areas of chronic poor vegetation growth as <br /> experienced over the last few years in specific areas. If <br /> overburden cover is applied these areas will be seeded with <br /> the "Mountain Mix" . <br /> MAYFLOWER MILL AREA - Plate No. 3 <br /> Activity at this site during the 1992 reporting year consisted of <br /> general site cleanup. This included removing of ore piles, spilled <br /> tailing etc. to Tailings Pond #1. Slopes were covered with <br /> overburden material around a portion of the mill area . <br /> Planned activity for 1993 includes : <br /> 1) Additional site cleanup and maintenance. <br /> MONITORING - WATER QUALITY <br /> Included in the Appendix are water quality data for; <br /> 1) Mayflower Millsite area <br /> a) Animas River above and below complex . <br /> b) Monitoring wells on the banks of the Animas River <br /> down gradient from Tailings Pond #3. <br /> c) Flow in the diversion ditch between Tailings Pond #3 <br /> and Tailings Pond #4. <br /> 2) American Tunnel area above and below the complex on the <br /> North Fork of Cement Creek. <br /> 3) CDPS permit data for the American Tunnel and Terry <br /> Tunnel. The Mayflower Mill CDPS permit discharge point <br /> had no discharge during the 1992 reporting year . <br /> There does not appear to be any disturbing trends noted in this <br /> monitoring. The first set of data for 1993 is not included because <br /> heavy snow cover delayed sampling so that results are not available <br /> for this report. This data will be included in the 1993 annual <br /> report. <br />
