C) Regulatory Permits Management, Inc. 9050 Old Tom Morris Cir., Highlands Ranch CO 80129
RPM, Inc. Phone: 303 - 854 -7499 Email: h1humphries2 a?comcast.net
Operations, and County Plan of Development permit application preparation, the area was snow
covered and a good site evaluation was not feasible.
As pointed out in the DRMS site visit, the four drill pad locations under phase one of the
exploration drilling program will be located on the Gold Hill Minerals access road and the
graded dump areas near the 350 Portal. Our intent is to do as much of the necessary exploration
drilling underground as possible such that the remaining drill holes needed on USFS land will be
minimized. We will drill these surface holes to the extent possible on existing USFS roads.
Drill pads on the USFS land will need to be moved around somewhat in order to accommodate
an efficient and practical drilling operation. The estimated total disturbance of .65 acres
includes all 11 proposed drill pad locations. As indicated above, we will provide the exact
location of surface drill pads and core holes within 60 days from the completion of each phase.
6. The Applicant has indicated drilling will occur on graded mine dumps. Please specify
the nature of the mine dumps. Are the mine dumps reclaimed? Is there vegetation
present on the dumps? Do they show any evidence of acid mine drainage from seeps or
runoff?
Response:
The mine dumps have been partially graded but not reclaimed. They were probably created
during the early years of the mining operation and added to by subsequent operators over the
years. There is no topsoil present, other than what may have blown or washed in over the years
on the margins of the dumps. There are areas of native grasses. Most of the dump areas are void
of perennial vegetation. There are no observable indications of acid mine drainage known to
Gold Hill Minerals from the mine dumps.
7. During the site inspection conducted on May 15, 2012, the Division observed that one of
the proposed drill pad locations occurs off of the established road on U.S. Forest Service
property. Please describe how this proposed drill pad location, which is on the side of a
hill, will be accessed? Will the Applicant have to construct a road to reach this location?
If so, please provide the Division with a description of how the road will be constructed
and reclaimed. Also, the Applicant should note that the total project area to be disturbed
has been set at 0.65 acres.
Response:
The location of the existing roads proposed to be used for exploration drilling by Gold Hill
Minerals, Inc. are shown on the maps provided in the NOI application. As illustrated on these
3
