• A recommendation that PSCM monitor Golden Eagles following U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service protocols.
i. Monitoring is ongoing per requirements of the mining permit using methodologies
approved by the US Fish & Wildlife Service. None of the sites have been
confirmed as being active so far this year
• A CPW recommendation that no surface occupancy within 0.4 miles of a
Sharp - tailed Grouse lek, and minimized disturbance during the breeding and
summer habitat use period (March 15 to June 15) within 1.25 miles of a lek.
• If disturbance is required within the 0.4 mile Sharp - tailed Grouse lek buffer and
during the period of March 15 to June 15, then adequate off site mitigation is
requested as determined by the cooperative wildlife mitigation plan.
i. A wildlife mitigation plan is being developed in conjunction with the CPW in order to
mitigate impacts from coal mining activities. Impacts from activities associated
with the TR will be mitigated according to the agreed upon plan
• Upon completion of mining activities all disturbed areas will be reclaimed to benefit
affected species per reclamation strategies outlined in PSCM wildlife plan and
PSCM approved permit.
