RECLAMATION
The areas to be disturbed in the gravel extraction
operation are areas which were previously disturbed in
historic or recent mining activities. All areas which
will potentially be impacted by gravel screening
currently support no vegetation and have no topsoil
cover . Therefore, no soil can be salvaged , and the
oversized and fine materials to be replaced in the
borrow areas cannot be revegetated as there will be no
suitable plant growth media.
Where it may be possible to obtain material suit-
able for plant growth , the procedures in Exhibit E -
Reclamation Plan of the Consolidated Permit (112)
Application for the Sunnyside Mine and Mill as amended
and approved (p . E:3 through E:5) - will be followed .
Final reclamation of the areas to be impacted by gravel
extraction will probably be involved in the ultimate
reclamation plan for Lake Emma , and as such , reclama-
tion efforts in October and November of 1987 for the
immediate purposes of this revision will be temporary
in nature to assure public safety, minimize erosion to
the site and prevent off-site deposition of eroded
sediments.
Drill sites will be reclaimed by pushing topsoil ,
removed from the individual sites, back over the dis-
-5-
