IWIC)77 -37s
1994 ANNUAL UPDATE
OV Area Inventory of Seeps, Springs and Flowing Adits
SUNNYSIDE MINE BULKHEADS
Background :
Sunnyside Gold Corporation has made four commitments (Appendix B-1)
to the Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) and Mined Land
Reclamation Board as a condition of approval for TR-14 , File No. M-
77-378 (Sunnyside Mine - Bulkhead Installation) . Of these four
commitments, three potentially require annual reporting of data.
This data and required narrative will be contained in this section
of the annual report unless conditions dictate immediate reporting
(ie. detection of tracer) .
General Comments:
- Attached in the Appendix (B2 - B7) is a general outline of the
monitoring program (s) reporting that will be incorporated into
this section of the annual report. This program outline was
prepared for the Colorado Department of Health and submitted
after review by the DMG.
- The main bulkheads (ie. Terry Tunnel and American Tunnel) have
not been constructed and tracer has not been introduced into
the mine workings . Therefore, all data collected to-date and
until completion of the bulkheads and tracer inoculation is
background data.
- Monitoring for tracer has shown that background concentration
in the area of interest is less than the detection limit.
This indicates that the tracer should prove effective for
detecting and locating any direct connections between the mine
pool and surface.
- Due to field conditions (snow cover ) between the date of
submittal of the original study results (October 28, 1993) and
the date of this report (June 10, 1994) , relatively little new
data is available.
