Photographs were taken by Harry
Ranney of the DRMS on Thursday, May 3, 2012. Photos were reviewed and annotated by
Marcia Talvitie, also of the DRMS.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE:
• The active pit continues to be divided between the Morgan property, on the south, and the
WFC property to the north.
• The mine's shovel was inactive at the time of the inspection, but appeared to be situated for
removing the final volume of Bench 1 overburden from the westernmost end of the Morgan
property (Photo 1).
• Bench 2 overburden (dark grey in color) has been placed in the lower reaches of the pit
backfill. To the east, the operator has distributed a layer of Bench 1 Surface Spoil (tan in
color), covering the Bench 2 backfill. Bench 1 material has also been stockpiled for future
distribution ( "OB I") (Photo 1).
• The northern active pit is shown in Photo 2. All equipment appeared to be inactive (parked)
at the time the photo was taken, but the areas of emplaced Bench 2 backfill, Bench 1 Surface
Spoil, and Topsoil were clearly visible.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures
4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments
4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
• Collection Ditch C9 runs along the contour at the western end of the northern boundary of
the disturbed area. This ditch, a segment of which is visible in Photo 2, reports to Pond 013.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 9
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4 Page 2 of 7
