SEDIMENTATION PONDS DEWATERING DEVICES
Spillways were constructed for the following ponds during
the summer of 1982 (See drawing Page 18) : Ponds 006 , 008, 009
and 010. Ponds 007 and 009 are in series and the spillway was
constructed for pond 009.
All ponds in Coal Basin (001 to 018) as well as the Carbondale
loadout sedimentation pond 019 have been surveyed. Within six
months the engineer design drawings will be completed and submitted
certified by a registered professional engineer attesting that
they are built as designed.
Certification of any ponds yet to be constructed will be
submitted immediately following completion.
All of the above ponds will be dewatered within 24 hours
following any runoff event by siphon or pump to maintain storage
capacity for a 25 year/24 hour precipitation event.
All dewatering devices will be located above the maximum
sediment storage level of each pond.
(Stipulations 4 , 5 & 6)
17 (Vol. 3 , App. II-B-7 , Att. 3)
