4.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
Cedar Creek recommends that all units evaluated in 2011 receive supplemental seeding of cool- and
warm- season perennial grass species in an attempt to improve cover and establishment of this lifeform.
There is some concern that these lifeforms will not be able to establish large enough populations on their
own to meet the success standards given the high level of competition from annual species, specifically
cheatgrass. It is also recommended to include shrub species in the supplemental seeding for Roadside
SP Light Use Road #1 (South) and Substation A in an attempt to improve woody plant density on these
units. It is highly recommended that the noxious weed spraying program at Snowcap continue to
address the noxious weeds (knapweed, whitetop, musk thistle, jointed goatgrass, and bindweed) that
were observed during 2011 evaluation efforts. In addition, herbicide treatment of cheatgrass using
Plateau for two consecutive years is recommended. Monitoring is recommended in 2013 (Year 6) to
assess the progress of the units in comparison to approved standards.
CEDAR CREEK ASSOCIATES, Inc.
Page 20 Snowcap - Revegetation Evaluation - 2011
Monitoring
