April 24, 2012 C- 1981- 015/Fruita No 1 & 2 MPB
seeded grasses and shrubs along the reclaimed access road to the upper bench. Along the reclaimed road several
species of shrubs were noted including four -wing saltbush, shadscale, and rabbitbrush. Grasses include western
wheatgrass, and indian ricegrass. In 2000 the access road to the #1 Mine Bench was extensively roughened and
seeded. The reclaimed road is very stable and remains in good condition. Photograph No. 4 taken near the upper
end of the reclaimed road shows good shrub establishment.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
No signs of erosion or off -site impacts were observed during this inspection. The mine site is stable and well -
vegetated. Vegetation cover along the reclaimed road, the relatively flat upper bench area, and the lower facility
reclamation areas is quite good. The ground cover is adequate to prevent excessive erosion and sedimentation
from the disturbed areas. There is no discharge of water from the underground workings, and no springs or seeps
emanate from the disturbed areas of the Fruita Mine.
Based on the review of permit documentation and inspection of the Fruita Mine, DRMS concludes that there have
been no off -site impacts resulting from the disturbance associated with the Fruita Mine and no future off -site
impacts are likely to occur.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED
None
OTHER (SPECIFY)
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 0
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4
Page 4 of 7
