corrugated metal pipe dewatering structures.
As described in the Division's January 21, 1998
Estimated Reclamation Costs by Anticipated Project, at least
three ponds have access roads which will require reclamation.
The estimated costs included grading to a configuration
similar to the reclaimed haul roads, installing drainage dips
and revegetating these roads. Rolled dips will be built every
250 feet on these roads: Mine 2 pond road, 3 dips; Mine 1
ponds road, 2 dips; 016 pond road 10 dips; 001 pond road, 6
dips. 001 pond road does not need additional grading.
In estimating this cost, the Division assumed that the
sediment ponds will not be reclaimed until such time as they
are no longer needed to control sediment generated from the
mine site. Because this will be several years in the future,
and because the haul roads which provide access to the ponds
will have already been reclaimed, an estimated cost is
included to repair any damage to the haul roads as a result of
moving heavy equipment to the pond locations. The components
of repairing damage incurred on previously reclaimed roads
(Roads A, B, D, E, F, G) involves re- ripping dozer track,
repair of damaged dips; purchase and install fertilizer, seed,
mulch.
There are documents which relate to this estimated cost.
The documents will be made available for inspection at a
mutually convenient time at the Division's offices in Denver
and \or Grand Junction.
32. It was MCR's belief that the lamphouse at the
Rock Tunnels portals (see attached USGS Quad Sheet Placita,
Colo. Segment) was to remain post- reclamation. If this belief
is incorrect, please advise us what determination(s) were made
and by what person(s) as to reclamation eliminating this
lamphouse. Are there documents relating to this
determination(s)? If so, please attach a copy of such
documents to your responses to these interrogatories or state
the circumstances under which these documents may be inspected
and /or copied.
Response: The Division's records indicate that Mid -
Continent Resources submitted Technical Revision 07 on January
7, 1987. This technical revision describes the demolition of
the Lamphouse, and was approved by the Division. In addition,
19
