April 26, 2012 C- 1981 - 041 /Roadside Portals MPB
concurs with not re- disturbing the current alignment of Coal Canyon and will propose to approve Permit Revision
No. 5 (PR -5) which provides the justification for leaving Coal Canyon in its present alignment and configuration.
Photographs of the present Coal Canyon alignment in the vicinity of Ponds 6 and Pond 10 are shown in the
attached photographs at the end of this inspection report.
TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06
Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4:
Also with PR -5 SCC is requesting that the remaining portion of Topsoil Pile 2 at the North Portal area be left in
place due to guy wire anchors supporting transmission power poles buried in the remnant of Topsoil Pile 2. The
Topsoil Pile 2 location was inspected (see Photo No. 4). This seems to be the appropriate course of action given
the high cost of relocating the guy wires. The pile is stable and well vegetated; it blends into the surrounding
terrain reasonably well, and does not impede the drainage pattern of the surrounding terrain nor impound water.
DOCUMENTS RECEIVED
None
OTHER (SPECIFY)
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3
Page 3 of 6
