Lithic Haplaquolls were mapped at the subgroup level because soil series were not available <br /> for these soils. These soils are wet and less than 20 inches to hard bedrock. The water table is encountered at about 5 inches throughout the growing <br /> season when irrigation water is running. Most pedons are continuously saturated with water for 90 days or more in most years. The control section is 5 <br /> to 35 percent rock fragments. Some pedons have an irregular decrease in organic carbon content with increasing depth. Texture is fine sandy loam, loam, <br /> clay loam, silty clay loam, or sandy clay loam.
