Rock fragments (mainly sandstone channers) range from 0 to 35 percent. The fine-earth
fraction is dominately sandy loam with 5 to 18 percent clay. Profile reaction is neutral through moderately alkaline, and is calcareous throughout. Profile
hue is 2.5Y through 7.5YR. Average
soil depth a ove t_Fe_sFa`ly sandstone bedrock is 13 inches. Average depth until the carbonate accumulation zone is encountered is four inches. Rock fragments
CD range from 0 to 35 percent. Clay percent in the fine-earth fraction was slightly less than typical (18 to 30%). Calcium carbonate percent in the Bk horizon
<, was also slightly less than typical. Profile colors are within the range of characteristics for the Pinon series. Associated vegetation at the sample site
LO includes sage, juniper, needle-and-thread, bottlebrush squirreltail, and cheat grass.
CD
0
CO
C CO
