George Patterson of Energy Fuels Coal Inc was also present during the
inspection. Also present was John Rutherford who delivered 1500 gallons of water to the site for
testing purposes. The water was sourced from a hydrant at John's shop. Ground conditions were
dry and the weather was clear and mild.
The reason for the inspection is in response to a citizen request under Rule 5.02.5 regarding
possible damage or dysfunction of ground water monitoring well MW -NW, which is part of the
currently approved ground r
water monitoring program
under the Southfield permit #C-
81 -014. This well was a former
mine water discharge point that
was incorporated into the
hydrologic monitoring program
following mine abandonment to
measure the water level in the
mine workings as the mine
floods following sealing of the
underground workings.
The inspection began promptly
at 1:00 pm. Mr. Patterson
removed the cap covering the
well and checked the well bore
for the presence of methane
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 7
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3
Page 2 of 6
