The ground was almost entirely free of snow. The <br />weather was often cloudy and windy, but no precipitation was experienced. <br />Major activities observed on -site during the two -day inspection included: <br />• The 102 dragline was undergoing maintenance at the West Pit Spoil Pile (a.k.a. Henk's Peak). <br />• In the West Pit, the 103 dragline was idle and sitting near the east end. <br />• In the East Pit, the 101 dragline was idle. A dozer was grading spoil near the high wall, and another dozer <br />was seen working on the road below. <br />A dozer was grading the South Taylor Fill. <br />EXCESS SPOIL and DEVELOPMENT WASTE — Rule 4.09: <br />Streeter Fill was observed from the north edge, and no problems were observed; grass cover is very good. <br />West Pit Fill was observed from the pond below, and no problems were observed. <br />West Taylor Fill was observed from the road below, and no problems were observed. A dozer was grading the <br />slope. Colowyo staff indicated that grading of this fill should be complete in the near future, and the process of <br />laying rock in the side drains will begin. <br />EXPLOSIVES — Rule 4.08: <br />An overburden shot in the south end of the South Taylor Pit (F seam) was observed from approximately one -half <br />mile away.
