SECTION 1: INTRODUCTION TO THE DODSON HYDRAULICS LIBRARY <br /> the series, then this manual may describe programs which are not on your <br /> program disk. <br /> 1. 3 INFORMATION TO HELP YOU GET STARTED <br /> 1.3.1 Files on the Program Disk <br /> Your program disk will contain at least some of the following files: <br /> TRAP.COM is the file containing the Trapezoidal Channel Analysis Program and <br /> all of its on-line help screens. <br /> CIRC.COM is the file containing the Circular Channel Analysis Program and all <br /> of its on-line help screens. <br /> PIPE.COM is the file containing the Pipe Culvert Analysis Program and all of <br /> its on-line help screens. <br /> BO%.COM is the file containing the Box Culvert Analysis Program and all of its <br /> on-line help screens. <br /> DET.COM is the file containing the Detention Basin Sizing program and all of <br /> its on-line help screens. <br /> 1.3.2 Getting Started Quickly <br /> To start the program, do the following: <br /> 1) Start up your computer using the hard disk or a floppy disk with the DOS <br /> system files on it. <br /> 2) Insert the program disk in Drive A, and close the disk drive door. <br /> 3) Type A: to move to disk drive A. <br /> 4) Type TRAP, CIRC, PIPE, BOX, or DET and press the <Enter> key to start the <br /> desired program.. <br /> S) In a few seconds the program will be loaded and you will be able to <br /> proceed through this manual and practice the use of each procedure. <br /> You should read this section of the program manual (SECTION 1: INTRODUCTION TO <br /> THE DODSON HYDRAULICS LIBRARY) completely. You may then turn to the section of <br /> the manual containing the detailed description of each program for more <br /> information. For example, you should review Section 2 carefully before using <br /> the Trapezoidal or Circular Channel Analysis Programs. <br /> 1. 3. 3 Making Backup Cogies of the Program Disk <br /> You should make a back-up copy of the program disk immediately, and then put <br /> the original program disk in a safe place.
