RESPONSE:
Peabody believes Exhibit 12-5 (Figure 1) reflects approximate original
landform (Figure 2). As discussed with Division personnel , for the
isolated area in question, additional cross sections perpendicular to
Exhibit 12-7 cross sections were drawn to determine whether or not the
average postmining profile approximated the average existing premining
profile. Figure 3 is provided to show where each of the new sections A,
F, and C are located in relationship to postmining Section I-I ' of
Exhibit 12-7.
Figure 4 shows the first new section. Although there is some change in
the landform, it is very insignficant and average slope data was not
calculated. Figures 5 and 6 do provide a comparison of the average pre-
and postmining slopes. As can be seen, the average postmining slope is
within 0.1 percent of the premining and represents little change to the
existing landform. An examination of the postmining topography and
operation plan maps will also support this contention.
