2 . 05 . 6 Page 19
In addition to monitoring of survey stations , the Colorado
M.L.R.D. requires a quarterly visual inspection by a Professional
Geologist for physical evidence of subsidence. Visual
inspections have been made on a quarterly basis by Fred M.
Johnson, C.P.G. , A. I .P.G. No . 2718 , beginning in the fourth
quarter of 1981 .
In addition to quarterly visual inspections for physical
evidence of subsidence, the Colorado M.L.R.D. requires a
quarterly inspection of the Huntington Irrigation Ditch for
evidence of damage resulting from underground mining . Fred M.
Johnson, C.P.G. , conducts a quarterly visual inspection of the
Huntington Ditch. Inspections to date have not indicated
evidence of damage , nor have they indicated that water is lost to
the mine via surface fracturing.
No additional structures or renewable resource lands are
affected by modification of Lease C-29125 or the Kambe-Van Camp
leases . National King Coal , Inc . will continue to monitor the
established subsidence monuments by semi-annual field survey,
establish new stations as needed and will continue quarterly
visual subsidence and ditch inspections . More frequent surveys
and inspections will be performed if deemed necessary.
1/10/90
