This site was very dry at the time of the inspection but vegetation species <br />appeared healthy. No weeds were observed in the grassland reference area, and the few forbs note d, Spotted <br />gayfeat h er, was extremely stunted in height. <br /> <br />REVEGETATION – Rule 4.15 Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br /> Vegetation throughout the mine site remains in good condition. Shrubs are showing signs of drought <br />stress with browning tops and some mortalit y. Many of the four -wing Saltbrush and juniper ind i vidual plants <br />appear to be thriving. The RDA contains a good diversity of shrubs; predominately four -wing S altbrush on the <br />south and west sides of the pile, Junipers, Pinyon , and several Ponderosa pine o n the north side, and Yucca on the <br />east side. <br /> <br />Shrubs in the reclaimed pond 3 area were robust in size, standing 3 -4 feet in height. Numerous Four -wing <br />S altbrush were well established, thriving and e stablishing new seedlings. Four -wing was predominant on the north <br />and east side of this reclaimed area. Rabbitbrush in this area was showing sign of decadence and die off. No <br />young Rabbitbrush seedlings were observed. Most of the rabbitbrush plants appeared to be of similar age, <br />indicating that this species e stablished early after initial reclamation, but as the seeded grass and shrub species <br />become established, the rabbitbrush is not thriving. Many of the transplanted juniper and ponderosa seedlings were <br />surviving. <br /> <br />OFFSITE SUPPORT FACILIITES - Rule 4.04, 4.2 8: <br /> The load out is located to the east of Florence. The site was dry, both ponds were dry. Both gates to the <br />site remain closed. There does not appear to be continual trespass across this site and there was no evidence of <br />recent 4 -wheeler activity acr oss the site.
