This Mine Life <br />Extension effort will extend the Cresson Project's mine life through 2016. <br />Amendment No. 9 site preparation, development, and backfilling activities continued in <br />portions of the Main Cresson and East Cresson — Wildhorse and WHEX —Mine Areas. <br />Continued development and expansion of the Squaw Gulch Overburden Storage Area <br />occurred, along with expansion of the Arequa Gulch VLF. <br />Technical Revisions ( "TRs ") were submitted to and approved by the DRMS during the <br />reporting period for: <br />• TR 60: Request for Technical Revision 60 included an auxiliary pump <br />installation on Phase I of the VLF. TR 60 was approved by DRMS on May <br />12, 2011. <br />• TR 61: Request for Technical Revision 61 included the relocation of <br />Growth Medium Stockpile No. 27. TR 61 was approved by DRMS on <br />September 27, 2011. <br />• TR 62: Request for Technical Revision 62 included enhancements to the <br />VLF Load Out Bin liner system and VLF Phase 4c berm raise. TR 62 was <br />approved with conditions by DRMS on November 4, 2011. <br />• TR 63: Request for Technical Revision 63 included the relocation and <br />construction of a new fuel island. TR 63 was approved by DRMS on <br />November 4, 2011. <br />• TR 64: Request for Technical Revision 63 included the construction of the <br />Process Solution Enhancement Circuit liner system. TR 64 was approved <br />by DRMS on December 16, 2011. <br />Enhancement and general maintenance of stormwater control features continued in <br />2011. Other Amendment No. 9 construction activities will continue throughout 2012 and <br />beyond. <br />Reclamation accomplished in 2011 included the following projects: <br />Approximately 44.5 acres of disturbance associated with the Cresson Project were <br />reclaimed in 2011 as shown on the attached map. The majority of the areas (40 acres) <br />were either broadcast seeded or hy roseeded followed by 1 ton per acre of hydromulch <br />and 1000 pounds per acre of Biosol applied with a hydromulcher. Additionally, <br />approximately 4.5 acres of smaller areas not easily accessible by the hydroseeder were <br />hand seeded. These activities followed the reclamation techniques defined in the <br />Cresson Project Reclamation Plan. <br />
