November 15, 2011 C -2009 -087 /Peabody Sage Creek Mine JDM <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fi scal Year: 2 <br /> <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> <br />stable with no problems noted. The discharge was clear. The amount of discharge was not identified through the <br />flume. However, the recording station was observed and functioning as required. <br /> <br />The Pecoco Pond contained water and was discharging into the upper sump as permitted at the time of the <br />inspection. The embankments were stable and well vegetated at the time of the inspection. The primary CMP <br />spillway was in good condition and the emergency spillway was stable with no problems noted. The Pecoco Pond <br />had no problems noted. <br /> <br />Pond 003 was holding water and had a small amount of discharge at the time of the inspection. The pond <br />embankments were snow covered and stable. The emergency spillway was stable and the primary spillway was <br />functioning as designed. No problems were noted. <br /> <br />Culverts and ditches located outside o f the South Facilities Area were snow -covered at the time of the inspection. <br />Culverts SCM2 , SCM3 , SC17, SC18, SC19, SC9 and SC11 were observed during this inspection. All culverts <br />were in place with no problems noted. <br /> <br />The upper sump was holding water a t the time of the inspection. Water was discharging from the Pecoco Pond <br />into the upper sump with no discharge noted from the upper sump into ditch RC -D3. The embankments of the <br />upper sump have bee n seeded and were stable at the time of the inspection. <br /> <br />Upper Sump <br /> <br />T he lower sump construction has been completed. The lower sump was holding water with no discharge noted. <br />The embankments were s table with no problems noted.
