The water flow depth in the Thompson culvert had increased from 1 inch (4 -2 -2012) to 1.5" , 2.5" and
2.5" today (4 -5 -2012) which is a small volume but the surface flow is still progressing eastward. The
water has not yet reached EFCI's Lower Sample Point further downstream.
The creek flow up at Mtn Park (4 -05 -2012) is still low, a scant 2 inch depth in the flat bottom, 30 inch
wide culvert. Estimated flow volume: barely 0.8 cfs. In 2010, it was 1.2 cfs. In 2009: 2.1 cfs. In 2007,
a wet year, I think it was about 10 cfs. Newlin Creek is following the trend that has been predicted.
There just has not been enough precip for it to flow very far eastward, like across County Road 92 and
beyond, during recent years.
If the current runoff will continue long enough, hopefully the flow will reach the Lower Sample point in
a few days.
Regards,
George P
