The mine is a reclaimed surface mine, as such, <br />no mine personnel remain on site. The weather was warm, dry and clear. Elk and mule deer hunting seasons were <br />still ongoing at the time of the inspection. The inspector met 2 hunters leaving the site as she entered from the <br />South (West Pit) access r oad. They stated they had the OK to be on the area, and we re leaving for the afternoon. <br />T h e hunters also noted that they had seen some other hunting groups lower down on the property. <br /> <br />A four -wheeler and back pack was parked by the south mine id entification sign. No hu nters were seen with the <br />four -wheeler. Four horses were observed in the West Ridge reclaimed area in the vicinity of the West Ridge <br />pond. While on the property, two other vehicles drove across the North Road and pulled into the <br />warehouse/facilities area . Th e North gate was open and a trailer was parked along the north access road near <br />Routt county road 179. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> A herd of approximately 20 pronghorn antelope were observed in the Moffat pit area. No shots were <br />heard from the mine area during the inspection. No elk or deer were enco untered during the inspection. The <br />hunters encountered at the South entrance reported that they had seen the three llamas earlier in the week. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, <br />4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring <br />4.05.13; Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Al l three permanent ponds were holding pools of water during the inspection.
