March 14, 2012 C-1981-010/Trapper Mine JLE <br /> <br /> <br />East Middle Flume Pond was stable and holding water. A small gully is forming on the west pit slope. The <br />spillway was open and stable. <br /> <br />East Flume Pond was holding a small amount of water. The slopes of the pond were stable and vegetated. <br /> <br />Middle Flume #1 was holding water and the sediment marker was in place. The pond slopes and embankment <br />were stable. <br /> <br />Middle Flume #3 was holding water and the dam embankment was stable and vegetated. <br /> <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE <br />: <br />D Pit was inspected, the drill rig that was set up at the north end of the pit is in the process of being disassembled <br />and removed from the site. Otherwise the pit appears to be stable. The Division attempted to inspect several <br />topsoil stockpiles south and east of the top of the pit, however the access roads were inaccessible. <br /> <br />TMI is actively mining in the K pit area. The Queen Anne dragline is still down for maintenance in the Z pit area. <br />The Molly Brown dragline was excavating in the K-Dip Pit. The Baby Doe dragline was excavating the K Pit. <br /> <br />The East A pit was observed. This pit is inactive and holding water at the northern end of the pit. The Operator <br />was not dewatering the pit at the time of the inspection; however the water level in the pit was low. <br /> <br />ROADS <br /> Rule 4.03 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3); Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4); Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6); Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />Many roads were observed during the inspection, including the old BC Road, the Life of Mine Road, the D Pit <br />Road, West Ash Pit Road, Mid Ash Road, North A Road, K-1 Road, North AE Road and the Mid AE Road. All <br />active haul roads were stable and were functioning as permitted at the time of the inspection. Water trucks were <br />observed spraying water on the active haul roads during the inspection. <br /> <br />A significant amount of runoff was occurring at the time of the inspection. May of the access roads to the northern <br />ponds were rutted and small gullies are forming. No major problems were noted. <br /> <br />REVEGETATION <br /> Rule 4.15; Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />The Division observed aerial seeding of the Horse Gulch Fill at the time of the inspection. <br /> <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES <br /> - Rule 4.04: <br />The main facilities area, the ANFO storage area and the East Panel Ready Line was observed and no problems <br />were noted. <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 9 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br /> <br />59 <br />Page of <br /> <br /> <br />
