February 7, 2007
3.2.5 Conclusions
..2140.00wmISTWORwNGS41 i.47FEBOrntn- tnsrowcacwonKING. vcm.emmc Golder Associates
-9- 063 -2140
After completion of the Phase II investigation, a comprehensive report will be prepared that presents
results of the field investigation, addresses current stability of the historic mine workings, and
potential impact of the workings on the stability of the VLF foundation. Recommendations for
typical and site specific remedial measures required to ensure the integrity of the VLF foundation
above the workings will also be included.
The majority of the drillhole locations shown in Drawing 2 are located in Phase Va of the proposed
Squaw Gulch VLF, to support detailing of a final level design for this initial phase of development. It
is also expected that the EI survey and confirmatory drilling programs will be focused on Phase Va.
Drillholes scoped outside the footprint limits of Phase Va have been located to investigate workings
with potentially significant remedial design/cost implications. Similar programs will be required in
order to provide sufficient information to address remediation of historical mine workings in
Phases Vb, Vc, and Vd.
