Manganese concentrations have been elevated and show seasonal spikes <br />(mostly in 2 quarter) in concentrations for C -01, CC -02, and CC -03 since 1985, 1996, <br />and 1996, respectively. Manganese concentrations have been slightly elevated and show <br />seasonal spikes (mostly in 2 and 3 quarters) for CC -04 since 1994. Other trace metals <br />are analyzed as part of the monitoring program. Median values for arsenic, cadmium, <br />chromium, lead, mercury, selenium, and silver in the ground waters at CC -01, CC -02, <br />CC -03, and CC -04 were less than the analytical detection limits Median concentrations <br />of copper at all four locations and nickel at CC -02 were above the analytical detection <br />limits, but low. Trace metal data also are provided in Tables 5 -18, 5 -19, 5 -20, and 5 -21. <br />5.5.3.4 MLE2 Impacts to Surface Waters <br />No significant impacts are anticipated to the surface water resources in the main Cripple <br />Creek drainage at CC -01 due to MLE2. The construction of the SGVLF in Squaw Gulch <br />and the continued operation of the AGVLF in Arequa Gulch may slightly reduce <br />tributary flows from Squaw Gulch and Arequa Gulch to the surface flows in Cripple <br />Creek. The impacts of these reduced flows would be noted at CC -02 (Squaw Gulch), <br />CC -03 (Squaw Gulch and Arequa Gulch), and CC -04 (Squaw Gulch and Arequa Gulch). <br />Water quality conditions in Cripple Creek are expected to remain consistent with the <br />historic measurements. <br />The flow and water quality conditions in the surface waters of Cripple Creek will <br />continue to be monitored by CC -01, CC -02, CC -03, and CC -04. <br />5.5.4 Groundwater <br />5.5.4.1 Monitoring Program <br />There are no ground water monitor wells in the main Cripple Creek drainage. There are <br />monitor wells are located in the tributaries to Cripple Creek (Squaw Gulch, Poverty <br />Gulch, and Arequa Gulch).
