The following discussion provides the considerations utilized in determining the equipment • fleet needed. Production Shifts, One shift per day was used for topsoiling and finish grading. Two shifts par day were used for open pit backfilling. Using two shifts per day would allow for preventative maintenance and minor equipment repair to occur on third shift, if needed.
